Hello. I am Pari.
I am a semi-professional artist
based out of Wellington, New Zealand (with roots from Bangalore, India). I have always nurtured a fascination for all forms of art (and design), and have made attempts to master some of them.
My formal training in art includes the Tanjorean and Mysorean styles of painting; both of which are ancient Indian art forms
that involve the usage of particularly unique materials, equipment and techniques.
I have constantly explored (and tried to push), the boundaries of said art forms and experimented with elegant fusions across other contemporary styles and media (European art forms are a particular favourite, with different media such as oil, pastel, charcoal and water-colours).
I’ve also tinkered with designing jewellery
and various accessories whilst working with different media such as terracotta and glass. I happen to currently be in training for (another) traditional Indian dance form called Kathak, alongside the Andalusian dance form of Flamenco. This rigour of traditionalism aside, I’m recently grown quite fond of pixels and digital art
.
Whilst not drawing, painting or dancing, you can usually find me spending time with my family, planning our next travel destination or mastering everything about Salesforce.
